The Town of Luray has been notified by Waste Management that all rollout repairs and replacements will now be handled by Waste Management. Historically, the Town Maintenance Staff have repaired rollouts and replaced damaged cans as requested by refuse customers. Town staff will no longer have access to repair materials including lids,. wheels, and cans. Requests for repairs should still be directed to Town Hall by calling (540)-743-5511. At this time, a work order for the repair will be entered into the Town's records. Repairs will then be sent to Waste Management, but they will only be conducted one day per week. Customer repairs will no longer be made on a daily basis by Town Maintenance. We appreciate your patience as this transition is made. Please note that there will be no changes to daily waste collection procedures. This change is only in reference to damaged rollouts and the associated repairs.
The Town of Luray provides a spring and fall brush pick-up service by appointment only. The collection dates are to be determined by management and will be advertised. Brush must be placed at the curb no later than 7 a.m. on your scheduled pick-up day. NO large items or other trash will be collected during these times. The Town will collect up to one pick-up load per residence. Please contact the Town Office at 540-743-5511 to schedule an appointment.
This service is provided to collect items which are too large to fit inside the trash bin for weekly trash collection. The large item collection is held once in the spring and once in the fall. No appointment is necessary. The collection dates are to be determined by management and will be advertised. Items must be placed at the curb no later than 7:00 a.m. NO brush, tires, batteries, or items that contain fluid of any type will be picked up. Refrigerators, freezers, and other similar items must have the doors removed and placed beside the units for disposal.
