PUBLIC NOTICE March 28, 2018 At their March 27, 2018 Work Session/Special Council Meeting, the Luray Town Council reviewed the following issues and took the following actions. Under the Updates & Discussion Items agenda item: 1) Council received a presentation from Sam McNeely regarding the ongoing maintenance effort at the Green Hill Cemetery 2) Council considered a request from the Luray Downtown Initiative for the installation of information signage to promote Downtown during the reconstruction of the Main Street Bridge. 3) Council reviewed the Resolution authorizing the submittal of a Community Development Block Grant to the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development to support the Luray Meadows Apartment project proposed by People, Inc. in the amount of $700,000 4) Council considered a request from staff to appoint both the Town Manager and the Assistant Town Manager as the Town’s Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Officers 5) Council reviewed a proposed Code Amendment to update Section 504 of Article V of Appendix A of the Town Code related to fences. Council will conduct a Public Hearing on the proposed Amendment at their April 9th Council Meeting 6) Council reviewed and discussed the proposed FY 2019 Budget 7) Council reviewed a proposed advertisement to inform our citizens about the proposed FY 2019 Budget in advance of Public Hearings to consider adoption of the budget Under the Items for Council Action agenda items: 1) Designated the Town Manager and Assistant Town Manager as the Town’s Freedom of Information Act Officers and approved the updated FOIA Policy 2) Approved the advertisement for the FY 2019 Budget as it was presented 3) Approved the Resolution authorizing the application for the CDBG for the Luray Meadows Apartment project to be constructed by People, Inc that will include fifty-two rental dwellings for low and moderate income families.
