PRESS RELEASE 

On January 8, 2018 at a Regular Meeting, the Luray Town Council reviewed the following issues, and 

took the following actions: 

Under the Updates & Discussion Items portion of the agenda, the Council: 

a) 
Received an update on the Greenway Extension Feasibility study 
b) 
Evaluated and confirmed increased field user fees for certain tournaments at the Rec Park 
c) 
Reviewed and commented on draft professional licensure compensation and tuition 
reimbursement policies for employees 
d) 
Reviewed and commented on a draft Tourism Zone Incentives program 
Within the Action Items section of the agenda, the Council: 

1) 
Approved a Proposal to Update the Town's Charter by the Town Attorney 
2) 
Approved the 2018 Luray Arbor Day Proclamation 
The Council then held a Closed Session for the purposes of discussing Real Property (Browns Building), 
and Personnel (Town Manager). 

After the Closed Session, the Council voted to authorize the Acting Town Manager to provide supporting 
documentation for a Vibrant Community Initiative grant application for downtown re-development.
